As a native New Yorker, Nandini found her way to her first yoga class when she was 14. She immediately resonated with many aspects of the yoga traditions and sought to practice at various studios around NYC. In 2005, after the recommendation of a dear friend who had explained “they do chanting there, you might take a liking to it”, she was introduced to the Jivamukti Yoga School at Union Square.
After she had walked out of her first class, an unforgettable feeling of awe, amazement and peacefulness washed over her. She had found her home base and influential teachers that have since then shaped her life in the greatest of ways. In June of 2013, Nandini attended the Jivamukti 300hr YTT in Costa Rica co taught by Rima Rani Rabbath, Jules Febre & David Life. She then continued on to complete the 800hr Jivamukti Teacher Apprenticeship Program with her Mentor Rima Rani Rabbath.
Nandini brings an authentic and organic component to her classes. Warm, nurturing and focused, her soothing tonality creates an environment welcoming to any student encouraging trust in themselves and their ability to deepen in concentration. Her clear direction and constructive alignment cues make a safe and inviting container for learning and exploration of the yoga postures. She encourages practitioners to question and search inside themselves, become inspired, and always develop lightness and humility to guide their experience. An Original by: Lisa Apatini
